I have built a site on youtube and will shamelessly video tape anything and everything that I can. I have some great video up from SXSW 2008, including my friend A.T. who is shamelessly dancing the night away, Saul Williams, breakdancing squirrels, the Whip, etc. Check it out, subscribe and leave comments, I am not scared of them at all. I have been reading a great book about all these types of sites and here is my advice to you, join tons of them and use the name you want to brand, like, Jenny Gamble is for me. I’m lucky, I work with AJT Graphics and they help me to learn all this shniz. I recommend them to you and you can find their information at the bottom of my site, or just email me at jenny@jennygamble.com and I will get you in touch. If you hear, don’t worry about a web site, run for the hills. Here is why: from my experience having booked bands and shows in Albuquerque for a number of years at many different events and clubs, web sites make you look more legit. Myspace and Facebook are great and I have them both, but a web site gives you total control and no ads, that you don’t want. Also, with guerilla marketing and viral marketing being such a great avenue to walk these days with all these types of sites, you get more traffic to your web site. You have to make the updates and you have to respond to the people asking. Blog, blog, blog, that helps, there are people out there that want to hear about you and you can use that forum to say whatever you want! So now, youtube is my fun in the sun.
